The international competition of choreographic educational institutions "Orleu" ("Ascent") It was established in 2008 at the Almaty Choreographic School named after A. Seleznev on the initiative of its director – Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Philological Sciences, associate professor, Murzakhanova Karlygash Ibraykhanovna. The Eurasian Cultural Foundation, which became the first founder of the competition, provided great support in the formation and development of the main international project of the school. Every two years, young talents come together to participate in an international competition, which has been increasing every year in terms of the number of participants and the geographical coverage of ballet schools. The competition is a competitive, competitive creative event that contributes to the preservation and development of the best traditions of classical and folk dances, the establishment of international creative cooperation, and the improvement of performing skills.The "Orleu" contest is becoming a popular project throughout Central Asia and popular in the countries of the Far and Near abroad: Russia – (Moscow, Novosibirsk, the Republic of Sakha, Buryatia), South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.The bright personality of Murzakhanova Karlygash Ibraykhanovna, endowed with great organizational experience and leadership qualities of a leader, promotes the school to a new stage of development. In 2012, with the support of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation and the company "Petro Kazakhstan", she created the International Festival of Ballet Schools "Orleu" for further popularization of choreographic art, identification and support of young talents, preservation and development of branch education of the professional community of choreographers and choreographers. The festival program introduces the practice of holding seminars and master classes in all special disciplines to link artistic tasks with methodological ones. The main purpose of the seminars is aimed at improving the pedagogical skills of teachers. The main task of the master classes is to acquaint guests with the peculiarities of the methodology of teaching Kazakh dance and, providing guests with – teachers of other schools, together with their teachers, showed lessons in special disciplines of classical, duet-classical, folk-stage, modern dance, created a creative atmosphere for discussing teaching methods and exchanging pedagogical experience.There is a huge responsibility in holding the "Orleu" at the most worthy professional level, maintaining the prestige not only of the educational institution, but also of the country, as well as in forming an international jury, the development of the competition and festival program falls on the artistic director of the school.The first competitions and festivals were held under the guidance of the artistic director Kadyrova Maira Shafkatovna, Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR, Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the period from 2008 to 2014, the "Orleu" competition and festival was gaining momentum from year to year. The jury of the I International Competition of Choreographic Educational Institutions "Orleu" was headed, as chairman, by an outstanding dancer, the Premier of the Kazakh Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after him. Seleznev Academy of Fine Arts (Kazakhstan), Yun Sung-hung, Laureate of international ballet competitions, teacher, choreographer of the National Ballet Academy (South Korea).The competition brought together 110 students from professional ballet schools in South Korea, Russia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Japan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. The winners of the first competition were 32 participants who were awarded the title of Laureate in the categories "Classical Dance", "Folk Dance". Grand-prix was won by students of the third year of the A. Seleznev AHU; in the categories "Classical Dance" – Sarsenbayev Eldar, "Folk Dance" – Nazgul Zhusupova.I would like to highlight the II festival and the III competition "Orleu", in which Lyudmila Alekseevna Kolenchenko (Moscow, Russia), Professor of the Department of Classical Dance of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation took part in the work of the international jury. She held 3 seminars on classical dance in junior and middle classes-the most important ones, where the professional foundation is laid. After each show, there was a heated discussion on the methodology of classical dance, every question was not ignored by Lyudmila Alekseevna, who enjoys great authority among all members of the jury and participants of the competition. She noted the good professional training of the school, especially positively emphasized the free perception of new material by primary school students and the active attendance of teachers and children of the entire program of the competition and festival.A traditional phenomenon of these events is a warm welcome, a friendly creative atmosphere of guests and participants of the competition and festival, members of the jury and mandatory awarding of each school with honorary prizes and letters of thanks.Since the foundation of "Orleu", outstanding personalities of the Kazakh ballet art Ramazan Bapov and Bulat Ayukhanov have been the main production consultants. With their personal attention and participation in the preparation of the contest participants, they contributed to raising the professional academic level of the oldest educational institution of choreographic education in Kazakhstan.Since 2015, the school has been headed by the Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, composer – Aya Kalieva Zhakenovna. Its leadership began with the brilliant organization, preparation and implementation of an extensive program for the 110th anniversary of the founder of the Kazakh ballet school, People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR – Alexander Vladimirovich Seleznev. The eventful days of the grandiose holiday were marked by the opening of the museum of the school and the bust of A.V. Seleznev, as well as the holding of the V International Competition of Choreographic Educational Institutions "Orleu". Within the framework of the competition, an international scientific and practical conference was held on the topic "Modern choreographic art and education: traditions and innovation, problems and prospects" under the leadership of the deputy director for the educational and methodological association, candidate of pedagogical Sciences Kanapyanova Gulzara Musakhanovna.The development of the Regulations and preparation of the Program of the V International Competition of Choreographic Educational Institutions "Orleu" is being conducted by the artistic director of AHU Li Lyudmila Munsekovna – Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR, Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Holder of the orders "Kurmet" and "Parasat". For the first time in the history of "Orleu", "Modern Choreography "is introduced into the program of the senior group, as mandatory at the third round in the category"Classical Dance". An almost new composition of the international jury has been formed. The chairman of the jury is M. L. Seleznev AHU (Kazakhstan, Almaty).The competition is attended by 9 schools – 145 students and students of professional choreographic educational institutions from different countries to demonstrate their professional achievements. For the first time, a new group of talented children from the Republic of South Africa (South Africa) is being added to the permanent participating countries.
The winners of the competition were 48 young talents-future ballet dancers.The program of the competition was supported by the holding of master classes in special disciplines by ballet masters from the jury members and invited guests of honor, as well as the work of a round table in the format "Presentation of participating schools"was organized. At the conclusion of the competition, according to tradition, on the historical stage of the KGATOB im. Abai hosted a gala concert and a solemn awarding of Laureates and Diploma holders, the presentation of special prizes.In 2017, the III International Festival "Orleu" was held, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding figure of Kazakh choreography Zaurbek Raibayev-the Chief Choreographer of the GATOB named after him. In the format of the Festival, a scientific and practical conference was held, the participants of which made reports on the life and work of a bright diverse dancer, choreographer-director of both classical performances of Spartacus, Raymond, Francesca de Remini, Bolero, Gerosim, etc. and as a choreographer-innovator of modern productions of Mynbayev's "Frescoes", Oneger's" Man and Woman", Stravinsky's" Card Game " at the main theater of the country. We remembered the years of his leadership of the Saltanat State Ensemble and his talented inventive performances of Kazakh folk dances. The speakers noted that more than one generation of ballerinas, dancers and ballet dancers grew up on his creative heritage. Invited ballet schools devoted master classes to him – an adherent of academic classical dance, demonstrating their professional achievements in choreographic disciplines. The school was represented by the leading teacher of classical dance A. N. Medvedev, who masterfully showed a lesson of male dance of senior courses. Students of the Bishkek Choreographic School named after Ch. Bazarbayeva showed a good strong professional training of women's and men's courses, which was demonstrated at the Gala Concert, performing the Grand pas from the Minkus ballet "Don Quixote" for 5 pairs, choreography by Gorsky, edited by A.M. Muratalieva. Students of the University of Arts of Amasia (Turkey) showed the elements and movements of Turkish folk dance. A round table discussion was held in a friendly atmosphere about the professional achievements of ballet schools and the role of their close ties with the theater. The closing ceremony of "Orleu" and a Gala concert were held on the stage of the Abai State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, in which, together with the performance of participating schools, AHU students and invited dance groups from different regions of the country showed specially restored best Kazakh dances from the rich creative heritage of Z. M. Raibayev. The young artists were applauded by veterans of creative collectives, ballet dancers of the KGATOB named after them. For the first time, all the heads of participating schools are included in the jury. This was successful, in November 2018, the International Competition and Festival "Orleu" were accepted as members of the International Federation of Ballet Competitions, whose president is the legendary Yuri Grigorovich, People's Artist of the USSR, under the patronage of the UNESCO club. In the spring of 2019, the history of "Orleu" was marked by the holding of the IV International Festival of choreographic educational institutions "Orleu" dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the A. Seleznev AHU, organized by the director of the school Dosbatyrov D. K.-Doctor of PhD, Knight of the Order of "Kurmet" and artistic director Li L. M. Sergey Alexandrovich Usanov – Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, First Vice-President of the International Union of Choreographers (1998), Honored Worker of Culture of the Polish Republic, General Director of the International Federation of Ballet Competitions (Moscow, Russia), our friends – Valeria Iosifovna Uralskaya (Moscow, Russia) and Park Jae – kyn (South Korea, Seoul) were invited to work in the festival as an expert commission. An international scientific and practical conference was held in the format of the festival, at which the members of the expert commission assessed the festival. In his speech, Mr. Usanov congratulated the staff of the School on the acceptance of the competition and the festival "Orleu" as a member of the International Federation of Ballet Competitions. The opening ceremony of the festival was marked by the premiere of the documentary film "AHU-85let" and the premiere of the "Class Concert" choreography by Mailen Tleubayev (Japan), as well as a congratulatory performance by the participating schools of the festival.The IV International Festival of Ballet Schools "Orleu" ended with a solemn Gala concert of participants and honored guests on the stage of the GATOB named after. Abaya. The concert was especially decorated with their festive and grateful mood by graduates of the AHU of different years, who have already taken place today, masters-leading soloists of the Astana Opera, Astana Ballet, GATOB theaters. "Orleu" carefully preserves and strengthens the Community of educational choreographic institutions of Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Ulan-Ude, Yakutsk, Ufa, Ankara, Bishkek, Tashkent, Seoul, Nursultan, Almaty, Tokyo, Minsk, Pretoria (South Africa).The creation and holding of the Orleu competition and festival became possible thanks to the highly professional skills of the teaching staff of specialists and managers of the Almaty Choreographic School named after A. Seleznev, as well as the fact that the school has its own Educational Theater with a beautiful stage, an auditorium for 400 seats.
